Intel to release anti-theft technology for laptops

Samstag, April 5th, 2008

intel_logo.jpg  hundreds of thousands mobile devices are stolen every year around the world and efforts of authorities, network operators and other interested parties to tackle the issue has little effect. However, Intel Corp. and a number of its partners believe that Intel Anti-Theft technology will hardly exclude possibility of stealing, but is likely to make it a lot harder. Intel Anti-Theft technology is set to become available in laptops towards the end of 2008. According to the company, the technology will be able to disable system from working, disable data access and protect hard disk drive (by encrypting all the data). More precise details about the new technology will be released later this year

datacore_logo.JPG  Go Virtual with DataCore! This value package combines – Storage management, Virtual Capacity Thin-Provisioning, iSCSI Support, Performance Acceleration and SANmotion – an ideal solution for smaller and midsized offices and workgroups that want to achieve a new level of flexibility in managing the utilization of storage resources to multiple systems. Leverage existing Ethernet and IP/LAN network interconnections to optimize storage space and capacity utilization across many servers. SANmelody transforms a PC into a powerful and cost effective disk server that serves disk space over a network – an affordable IP storage network or iSCSI SAN. The powerful Auto Provisioning Virtual Capacity feature demonstrates the ease and flexibility of virtualization. The Auto-provisioning feature presents very large virtual volumes (disks) to applications, but only allocates disk blocks and space dynamically as the application consumes it. This „just-in-time“ storage allocation “auto-grow” capability maximizes disk space utilization and enhances productivity through automation
