Hostnames are not allowed to have underscores in them – some applications (e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer) won’t work correctly if any part of the hostname contains an underscore character

Domain names must contain only letters (upper or lower case) and digits. Domain names can also contain dash characters (-) as long as the dashes are not on the ends of the Name
