Syncthing – Staggered File Versioning automatically keeps a growing number of older file versions for a set period, then reduces the frequency of new versions over time to save space, while still providing quick access to recent files. It moves deleted or replaced files to a hidden .stversions folder within the main folder. You can configure settings like the maximum age to retain versions and can optionally set a custom path for the versions folder.
Example Configuration (Default)
1 Hour: Keep the most recent version every 30 seconds
1 Day: Keep the most recent version every hour
30 Days: Keep the most recent version every day
Until Maximum Age: Keep the most recent version every week
