Eingeführt wurde die Uhrzeit wohl zur Vorstellung des ersten iPhone im Jahre 2007. Damals war die Pressekonferenz so genau getimed dass die Einleitung und der traditionelle Rückblick auf die vergangenen Produkte und Monate rund 40 Minuten dauerten sodass nach 41 Minuten also etwa um 9:41 Uhr das iPhone in Form einer Slideshow und eines Produktvideos gezeigt wurde. Das Publikum sollte dabei denken die Bilder und Videos wären „live“ und deswegen zeigten alle Geräte immer diese Uhrzeit an
