Der österreichische Ministerrat hat nach langwierigen Verhandlungen die Einführung einer elektronischen Gesundheitsakte (ELGA) beschlossen. Die ELGA soll als Portal für die Patienten Ende 2013 in Betrieb gehen. 2015 sollen Krankenhäuser, 2016 Ärzte und Apotheker, 2022 die Zahnärzte auf die Gesundheitsdaten zugreifen können
