200 Millionen Geräte auf der ganzen Welt laufen aktuell mit Windows 10 – und bald könnten es noch deutlich mehr werden. Denn für Anfang des Jahres hat Microsoft eine neue Strategie angekündigt mit der Nutzer von Windows 7 zum Update auf Windows 10 bewegt werden sollen – „Anfang 2016 werden wir Windows 10 voraussichtlich als „Empfohlenes Update“ einstufen. Je nach Ihren Windows-Update-Einstellungen sorgt dies dafür dass der Upgrade-Prozess auf Ihrem Gerät automatisch gestartet wird. Bevor das Upgrade das Betriebssystem Ihres Geräts ändert werden Sie deutlich gefragt, ob Sie fortfahren wollen oder nicht“

Microsoft Windows 10 – one of the excellent feature is that disk encryption is built-in and turned on by default protecting your data in case your device is lost or stolen. But what is less well-known is that if you are like most users and login to Windows 10 using your Microsoft account your computer automatically uploaded a copy of your Encryption Key – which can be used to unlock your encrypted disk – to Microsoft’s servers probably without your knowledge and without an option to opt-out

In Windows 10, your device is always kept up to date with the latest features and fixes. Updates and drivers are installed automatically, with no need to select which updates are needed or not needed. In rare cases, a specific driver or update might temporarily cause issues with your device, and in this case you will need a way to prevent the problematic driver or update from reinstalling automatically the next time Windows Updates are installed. If a driver or update you are being offered is causing system crashes or instability and Windows was operating correctly prior to that update – you can follow these instructions to prevent the unwanted driver or update from being installed

Microsoft is offering Windows 10 as a free upgrade to existing licensed users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 and it could pose serious problems to those running short on storage space or using a metered internet Connection – if you are using Windows 7 locate the following updates: 3035583, 2952664, 3021917 and if you are using Windows 8 locate the following updates: 3035583, 2976978 – and than make a right-click one update after the other and select uninstall from the context menu

Long Term Servicing Branch (LTSB) für Geschäftskunden – LTSB wurde primär für geschäftskritische Systeme konzipiert – anders als bei CB und CBB wird hier nur alle 2-3 Jahre ein LTSB mit allen neuen Features von Microsoft definiert. Sie haben die Wahl in diesem Rhythmus neue Features zu installieren oder auch einen LTSB Aktualisierung zur Funktionserweiterung zu überspringen. Aktuelle Sicherheitsupdates und Hotfixes werden wie bei CBB unmittelbar geliefert.
