This Zabbix template uses tshark to analyse network traffic on a capture Interface – doing this allows you to perform monitoring of certain types of network traffic passing by on the capture interface and plot these over time. Very, very useful if the interface you are monitoring is a SPAN or monitor port of an import network uplink. The template and scripts facilitate in counting duplicate acks, retransmissions, lost segments, etc. but could easily be adjusted to trend different types of data

VMware vSphere supports applications with millisecond level latency constraints – however certain applications that are extremely latency sensitive would still be affected by the overhead due to strict latency requirements. In order to support virtual machines with strict latency requirements VMware vSphere introduces a new per VM feature called Latency Sensitivity
Among other optimizations this feature allows virtual machines to exclusively own physical cores thus avoiding overhead related to CPU scheduling and contention and combined with a network passthrough functionality which bypasses the network virtualization layer applications can achieve nearnative performance in both response time and jitter
