miniLock – the browser plugin promises easy encryption with drag-and-drop security

miniLock can be used to encrypt anything from video email attachments to photos stored on a USB drive or to encrypt files for secure storage on Dropbox or Google Drive. Like the older PGP miniLock offers so-called public key encryption. In public key encryption systems users have two cryptographic keys a public key and a private one. They share the public key with anyone who wants to securely send them files – anything encrypted with that public key can only be decrypted with their private key which the user guards closely

BSI_logo   Der Schutz Kritischer Infrastrukturen steht im Fokus der 8. Wirtschaftskonferenz, die heute von Bundeskriminalamt (BKA), Bundesamt für Bevölkerungsschutz und Katastrophenhilfe (BBK) und Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) in Berlin durchgeführt wird. Rund 150 Repräsentanten von national und international tätigen Unternehmen, von Wirtschaftsverbänden, Sicherheitsbehörden und anderen öffentlichen Stellen erörtern die Bedrohungspotentiale sowie Kooperationsansätze und gemeinsame Sicherheitskonzepte zum Schutz Kritischer Infrastrukturen. Hierzu zählen unter anderem die Energie- und Wasserversorgung, die Verkehrs- und Finanzinfrastrukturen, das Gesundheits- und Ernährungswesen, Einrichtungen der Regierung, Verwaltung und Justiz sowie die Informations- und Telekommunikationsinfrastruktur
