RAID 6 ist eine Erweiterung von RAID 5, sodass hierbei bis zu zwei Festplatten in einer Gruppe ohne Datenverlust ausfallen können. Bei RAID 6 sind zwei mathematische Berechnungen zum Wiederherstellen der Daten erforderlich. Die erste Paritätsberechnung entspricht der von RAID 5 (XOR), die zweite Paritätsberechnung ist anders und erfordert eine zusätzliche Festplatte. 112_logo.jpg   Ein Notruf kann von jedem Telefon aus immer kostenlos erfolgen – dies gilt auch für Mobiltelefone. Hier wurde international im GSM-Standard die 112 als Notrufnummer eingeführt. Auch ohne SIM-Karte oder PIN kann man in vielen Ländern diese Nummer wählen und wird mit einer Leitstelle, wie Rettung oder Polizei, verbunden. Mobiltelefone vieler Hersteller erlauben sogar das Wählen dieser Nummer bei aktivierter Tastensperre. In Deutschland sind Notrufe von einem Handy ab 2009 nur noch mit einer betriebsbereiten SIM-Karte möglich. Die bisherige Möglichkeit, Notrufe auch ohne SIM-Karte absetzen zu können, wurde gesperrt, um den Missbrauch der Notrufnummern zu verhindern. Dies geht aus einer am am 17.12.2008 vom Bundesrat beschlossenen Verordnung über Notrufverbindungen hervor
